The following are books and DVDs that have been really useful to me in my healing journey. There are so many books out there, it can be hard to decide which ones will be useful to you. This is a small selection of books that I highly recommend.

Loving What Is by Byron Katie

Your body's telling you: Love Yourself by Lise Bourbeau

This is Where I Stand -ThePower and Gift of BeingSensitiveby Rue Hass

What the Bleep Do We Know? a great DVD that really makes you think

If you are looking for a method of dealing with the things that bug you in your daily life, then this book is for you. Byron Katie describes a really simple method of self discovery, which I have found works brilliantly alongside of TAT or EFT.

The book introduces a simple method that makes finding out how we feel about ourselves really do-able. But be warned - if you don't really want to know the truth of what's going on in your mind, this book is not for you!!!!

An excerpt of the book is available free online, and gives you all you need to get up and running with the questioning process that Katie recommends. I personally find the process incomplete on its own a lot of the time, but if I take the statement that I end up with as a result of what Katie calls "The Turnaround", and then use TAT or EFT to explore it, nothing short of magic happens!

For more information, see Byron Katie's website.

This book not only contains fantastic information on the possible metaphysical meanings of physical challenges, but also gives a brilliant questioning process that you can use to discover the meanings of your symptoms individual to you. Sometimes when we are working on our own with EFT or TAT, it can be a little difficult to get to the core of our physical issues. This book makes that so much easier.

You can use the detailed information on suggested generic meanings for physical symptoms, or you can use the questioning process in the back of the book. Either way, you end up with some great leads to follow with EFT or TAT.

You can read an excerpt of this book online free of charge, and to find out more about the book, you can visit Lise's website.

"This is Where I Stand - The Power and Gift of Being Sensitive" by Rue Hass

This book really made a huge difference for me when I read it. And one of the great things about it, is that there's a really easy way to discover whether it's likely to be useful for you.

Rue introduces a personality type that occurs for about 15 to 20 percent of the population, which wasn't known until a few years ago. In her book, she describes in brilliant detail how you can use EFT to turn what are commonly seen as weaknesses of those with this personality type into your strengths, using EFT. The book includes a chapter on how to do EFT, and for anyone familiar with TAT, all the statements can equally be used as TAT statements.

One of the biggest things reading this book did for me was realising that there isn't actually anything inherently wrong with being highly sensitive - and in fact the traits we highly sensitive folk have are really useful to the world. It also helped me to realise that unless we heal the issues surrounding our sensitivity, we do tend to be vulnerable physically - Rue writes about how many people with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia have this personality type, and how being aware of it can help us to heal.

To find out whether you could benefit from this book, it is recommended that you spend 5 minutes taking the free online HS Person test. If you score highly on the test, check out the write up on Rue's book.

You can buy the book from Rue's website.

If you haven't seen this movie, and are interested in learning about what leading edge science has to say about how we can transform our lives, I highly recommend that you check it out. And if you have seen the theatrical version, but not the quantum version, you might want to consider getting it, it's packed with an additional 10 hours worth of amazing information on 5 DVDs.

What the Bleep shows how what the researchers are learning is coming together with what the ancient mystics knew oh so long ago. While it's impossible to take it all inin one viewing, it puts the information into great graphic forms that really hit home. It's not just theoretical, it really helped me change perception with how I was looking at the health challenges I had at the time I saw it. It's real stuff, not just a bunch of intellectuals talking about their lifes' work!!!

If anyone hasn't seen the movie, and would like to see what it's about, there's a great trailer/compilation that only takes 5 minutes to watch.

And once you've seen it, if you'd like to learn more about the messages available from the movie, there is a great e-book that you can download free.

You can learn more about this DVD at the What the Bleep Official Website

This book may well be for you if you are suffering from any kind of chronic pain, be it physical or emotional, and you want to heal. If I could only have one book in my library about EFT, this would definitely be it.

This easy to read and inspirational book gives all the detail you need to heal from any kind of chronic pain using EFT. Rue gives an excellent structure that anyone could follow no matter how experienced or inexperienced they are with EFT, and shows how powerful this tool can be, when used correctly. Rue’s understanding of EFT demonstrates why she is an EFT Master, and this book will empower you with the skills and approaches you need to master EFT for yourself. For anyone who hasn’t yet learnt EFT, there are two chapters detailing all you need to use EFT, and the book has many inspiring stories that will motivate you to get started.

Here’s some of what Rue writes:

“Chronic pain is a technique of the body-mind-spirit that calls us to emotional freedom…To me, chronic emotional or physical pain is the spirit screaming.”

“Skillful, thoughtful EFT, practiced individually or co-creatively with a practitioner, invites and makes possible the freedom of the human spirit from it’s cage of negative thoughts and beliefs... I love the simplicity and effectiveness of EFT, and the fact that it is a tool that people can take home with them. They don’t always have to be going to the ‘expert’ to get ‘fixed’ because they are ‘broken’.”

Anyone who knows me well knows that I’m passionate about my own healing, but lately I’ve found it difficult to know how to continue approaching long term issues in a way that I can really get to the bottom of them. “Opening the Cage of Pain with EFT” has not only inspired me to continue with my healing, but also gives me the structure inside which I can do it.

This book is truly worth it’s weight in gold, but fortunately for us is available to buy, in either printed or e-version, at a very reasonable price. For those in the US and/or wanting to buy the e-version and get started right away, you can purchase the book from Intuitive Mentoring. For those outside of the US and wanting to buy the book in print version, the best place I’ve found is The Book Depository in the UK, who will ship the book anywhere in the world free of charge.
